Teva Trip Tefillot

* At Teva you had the opportunity to be outside for tefillot.  Did this environment make it easier to have "koved rosh"?  Why or why not?

* We can't wait a full hour before tefillot like the Hasidim haRishonim.  What is something you think we can do at school to increase the level of koved rosh?

  1. -I think it was easier to have Koved Rosh while praying outside because you got to be around the beauty of nature, Which G-d created. (And that is what you are thanking him for)

-I think that instead of making people sing something, you can give them the option of what to do, like at TEVA.

    1. I admire Aviva Lerman. She is very smart and funny. She is my role model and my hero. If I could be anybody in the world for a day, I would choose her.

  2. Praying outside helped a lot because if you didn't want to say all of the words, you could just stand and soak it all in; it was peaceful and relaxing. It was easier to have Koved Rosh because everything was so beautiful. You really could understand what you were thanking God for.

I think that it would be a good idea to move tefilliot to after lunch, or sometime else in the day, because in the morning, everyone is half asleep. Also, at Kabbalat Shabbat, we are all so sick of school that we are going crazy and goofing off, and we can't pray properly.

  3. At teva it was harder to keep a "koved rosh" because you didn't know all of the tunes/songs that they did.
I think that in order to stop kids from talking all the time in tiffilah we should be putting people from different grades next to each other.

  4. I thought it was fun and nice to be outside while doing koved rosh. You got to be outside in nature getting fresh air. Looking at nature: the animals, hearing animal sounds, looking at the water/ lake. It was good to be outside because G-d crreated nature.

Do what we did at Teva. Go outside i would think people would like that more. Especially when it is warm outside.

  5. At TEVA it was a whole lot easier to pray because the enviornment was good for praying and kids were quiet and the staff allowed people to have time for personal prayer. At school we can start T'fillah with songs that get us into the mood to pray.
